This course introduces caregivers to safe medication support and the laws that guide medication-related tasks in care settings. Learners will explore the difference between medication assistance and medication administration, along with the caregiver’s responsibilities when helping clients with medications. The course emphasizes the Five Rights of Medication and the importance of observing, documenting, and reporting medication side effects or concerns.


The second part of the course focuses on self-directed care and nurse delegation laws that support clients who wish to remain safely in their homes. Learners will gain an understanding of the caregiver’s role, legal limitations, and how these protections help ensure clients receive safe and appropriate care from trained providers.
