Infection prevention is a critical responsibility in caregiving and long-term care settings.

Lesson 1: Infection Control Basics
By the end of Lesson 1, learners will be able to:
Recognize common signs and symptoms of infection in clients and caregivers
Identify best practices for preventing infection transmission, including hand hygiene, PPE use, and environmental safety
Apply methods to restore and maintain a safe care environment following exposure to infectious agents
Lesson 2: Blood-Borne Pathogens & Privacy
By the end of Lesson 2, learners will be able to:
Identify the characteristics of common blood-borne pathogens, including HIV and related diseases
Explain how blood-borne infections affect the body and describe effective prevention strategies
Recognize legal, ethical, and emotional considerations related to health privacy, confidentiality, and long-term care responsibilities
