This course introduces the core responsibilities of a home care aide and the essential role caregivers play in supporting client health, safety, and well-being. Learners will explore how to provide personal care using care plans, including assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs) while promoting client independence, dignity, and privacy.


The course also emphasizes the caregiver’s role as part of a care team, including observing, documenting, and reporting changes in a client’s condition. Learners will review professional standards, including maintaining boundaries, demonstrating responsibility, and understanding the scope of their role. The course concludes with strategies for responding to emergencies and promoting a safe care environment.
